Scott Towle

Scott’s favorite training quote "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, covered in scars, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'hell yeah', what a ride." - Bear Grylls What trail running means to Scott Trail running is an escape, a chance to unplug and connect with nature, while providing an opportunity to see how far I can push myself. Scott’s favorite training quote "In running it is man against himself, the cruelest of opponents. The other runners are not the real enemies. His adversary lies within him, in his ability with brain and heart to master himself and his emotions." - Glenn Cunningham "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, covered in scars, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'hell yeah', what a ride." - Bear Grylls Scott’s advice for new trail runners First and foremost, have fun. Get dirty. Leave the headphones. Check in on other runners and don't be afraid to lose 30 seconds to help someone else out. Scott’s most memorable/proud run/race (non-trail) Crossing the finish line at Ironman Wisconsin with my wife, Katie. We had trained together and raised over $6000 for the MS Society in honor of Katie's mother. It was Katie's first Ironman, and we didn't have plans to finish together. It just worked out. (trail) Taking the overall win at the Green Ultra 50 Miler. It was my first time to win an ultra outright. Fun fact I've ridden a bicycle to Alaska, from Austin. Scott’s running/racing bucket list Western States 100 Badwater 135
